Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By creating an account or using GuestPad ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you agree to these terms on behalf of that organization. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

GuestPad provides a digital guest concierge platform for accommodation providers. The Service includes a dashboard for property management and a tablet-based guest interface displaying property information, local recommendations, tour bookings, messaging, and aurora forecasts.

3. Account Responsibilities

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
• You must provide accurate and complete registration information
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• One account per person. Shared login credentials are not permitted.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

• Subscriptions are billed monthly per property
• Prices are listed in EUR and may change with 30 days' notice
• Payment is processed by Stripe. You agree to Stripe's terms for payment processing.
• Failed payments may result in service suspension after a 7-day grace period
• No refunds for partial months. Cancel anytime to stop future billing.

5. Data Ownership

Your content is yours. You retain all rights to content you upload to GuestPad, including property descriptions, photos, local recommendations, and house rules.

• You grant GuestPad a license to display your content to guests using the tablet interface
• This license is limited to operating the Service and ends when you delete your account
• You may export your data at any time by contacting support
• Upon account deletion, all your property data is permanently removed from our systems

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Upload illegal, defamatory, or inappropriate content
• Use the Service to harass, spam, or mislead guests
• Attempt to access other customers' data or bypass security measures
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the platform
• Use the Service for any purpose other than legitimate accommodation management
• Resell or sublicense access to the Service without written consent

7. Guest Data and Privacy

GuestPad is designed with guest privacy in mind. Guest interactions (messages, sightings) are anonymous by default. As a property owner, you are a data processor for guest messages sent through your property's tablets. You agree to handle guest communications responsibly and in accordance with applicable privacy laws. See our Privacy Policy for full details on data handling.

8. Tour Bookings and Commission

GuestPad facilitates tour bookings through third-party tour operators. GuestPad is not the tour provider and is not responsible for the tour experience, cancellations, or refunds. Commission rates are agreed between you and the tour operator. GuestPad provides the tracking and attribution technology but does not take a commission cut.

9. Aurora Forecast Disclaimer

The aurora forecast is provided for informational and entertainment purposes. While we use professional-grade data sources, aurora activity is inherently unpredictable. GuestPad makes no guarantee of forecast accuracy and accepts no liability for decisions made based on forecast information.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• GuestPad is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
• Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
• We are not liable for any loss of data beyond what is recoverable from our regular backups

11. Termination

By You

You may cancel your subscription and delete your account at any time from the dashboard Settings page. Upon deletion, all your property data, tablets, messages, and content are permanently removed. This action cannot be undone.

By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, fail to pay for the Service, or use the Service in a way that harms other users or the platform. We will provide reasonable notice (at least 14 days) except in cases of serious violations.

Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your access to the dashboard is revoked and guest tablets linked to your properties stop displaying content. You may request a data export before termination.

12. Modifications to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes at least 30 days before they take effect via email to your registered address. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Iceland. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Reykjavik, Iceland, unless otherwise required by consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction.
